The SPI 37-120-3 is a single-end Go plug thread gage designed to verify internal thread conformance to M16x1.5 metric specifications at 6H tolerance class. Used in dimensional inspection and quality control workflows, this gage confirms that a threaded hole has been cut within the upper boundary of acceptable tolerance, allowing a correctly sized fastener to pass freely. The gage member measures 0.63 inches in diameter and 1.87 inches in length, with a total weight of 0.22 pounds. A separate handle is required for operation and is not included. Traceability certification meets ANSI standards with NIST traceability.
This gage is suited for inspection departments, machine shops, manufacturing floors, and field quality checks wherever M16x1.5 internal threads must be verified to 6H class. Typical applications include verifying threaded bores in mechanical assemblies, hydraulic fittings, automotive components, and industrial equipment. The Go gage is used as the first check in a Go/No-Go inspection sequence to confirm the thread has not been cut undersized or with excessive taper. Designed as a Go plug gage member for use with standard plug gage handles (sold separately) capable of accepting a gage member sized for M16x1.5 thread inspection at 6H tolerance class.
This gage member must be seated securely in a compatible plug gage handle before use. Inspect the gage member and the threaded bore for debris, chips, or damage prior to each use, as contamination will produce inaccurate readings. Apply only hand pressure when inserting the Go member — never force the gage, as this can damage threads or the gage itself. Store the gage in a protective case away from moisture and abrasive surfaces to maintain calibration integrity.
