The SPI 34-498-6 is a single-ring threaded ring gage used to verify external thread conformance on M16 x 2.00 metric fasteners and threaded components. Manufactured from Oil Hardened Non-Shrinking Steel (OHNS), it is a No Go gage, meaning it is used to confirm that a threaded part does not exceed the maximum material condition for Class 6G tolerance. When the No Go gage fails to assemble onto the part, the thread is within specification. This gage is a standard tool in dimensional inspection workflows at manufacturing facilities, machine shops, and quality control stations.
This gage is used in metric thread inspection for M16 x 2.00 external threads to Class 6G tolerance requirements. Class 6G is a commonly specified general-purpose external thread tolerance class covering a wide range of bolts, studs, and other fastened connections in industrial and manufacturing applications. The single-ring design is suited for bench inspection work and in-process quality checks where one-sided thread verification is required.
Designed for inspection of M16 x 2.00 external metric threads to Class 6G tolerance. Use as the No Go member of a Go/No Go gage pair for complete thread acceptance testing per applicable metric thread standards.
Threaded ring gages are used by quality control technicians and machinists and require no permanent installation. Store gages in a protective case away from moisture and contaminants to preserve calibration. Do not force the gage onto a thread; excessive resistance on the No Go gage indicates the thread is at or beyond the tolerance boundary. Gages should be recalibrated at intervals appropriate to usage frequency and facility quality standards.
