The SPI 34-497-8 is a single-ring threaded ring gage designed to verify external metric threads to M16 x 2.00 specifications at a Class 6G tolerance. This is the Go member of the Go/No-Go gage pair, used to confirm that a threaded workpiece falls within the acceptable lower tolerance limit. Manufactured from oil-hardened non-shrinking tool steel, the gage provides the dimensional stability and wear resistance required for repeated use in production or inspection environments. An NPL traceability certification is included, supporting quality management systems that require documented measurement traceability.
This gage is used in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and quality inspection departments wherever M16 x 2.00 metric external threads must be verified to Class 6G standards. Typical applications include incoming inspection of fasteners, in-process thread verification on machined parts, and final inspection prior to assembly. The single-ring Go configuration is commonly used alongside a separate No-Go ring gage to complete a full attribute inspection of externally threaded components.
Designed for attribute inspection of externally threaded metric fasteners and machined components with M16 x 2.00 thread form and Class 6G tolerance designation.
Threaded ring gages are used by quality technicians and machinists and do not require installation in the traditional sense. Store the gage in a clean, dry environment and apply a light coat of instrument oil when not in use to prevent corrosion. Before use, clean both the gage and the workpiece thread to remove chips, coolant, and debris that could cause false readings or accelerate gage wear. Do not force the gage onto a thread — if the Go ring does not pass under hand pressure alone, the workpiece is out of tolerance.
