The SPI 34-461-4 is a single-ring threaded ring gage used to verify the external thread geometry of M2.2 x 0.45 metric fasteners and threaded components to Class 6G tolerance. This is the Go member of the Go/No-Go gage pair, confirming that a threaded workpiece falls within the minimum material condition of the specified tolerance class. The gage is manufactured from Oil Hardened Non-Shrinking Steel (OHNS) tool steel for dimensional stability and long service life. A National Physical Laboratory (NPL) traceability certification is included, supporting quality system documentation requirements. Metrology technicians, machinist inspectors, and quality control personnel use this gage in production and receiving inspection workflows.
This gage is suited for inspecting M2.2 x 0.45 externally threaded parts including small screws, pins, and precision fasteners produced to metric Class 6G tolerances. It is applicable in precision manufacturing, aerospace subcontracting, medical device machining, and any production environment requiring documented thread verification at this thread size. The single-ring design accommodates standard handheld inspection use at the bench or on the production floor.
Designed for inspection of externally threaded components with M2.2 x 0.45 thread form manufactured to Class 6G tolerance per applicable metric thread standards.
Thread ring gages require no installation but should be handled and stored according to standard metrology practices to preserve calibration integrity. Keep the gage clean and lightly oiled when not in use to prevent corrosion of the precision-ground bore. Do not force the gage onto a non-conforming thread, as this can damage the gage and invalidate its certification. Periodic recalibration by a certified metrology lab is recommended to maintain traceability documentation.
