The SPI 34-383-0 is a double-end plug thread gage designed to inspect 5/16-24 UNF internal threads to 2B tolerance class. One end carries the Go member; the opposite end carries the No Go member. When the Go end passes fully and the No Go end does not enter, the threaded hole meets 2B specification. The gage is manufactured from steel for durability and dimensional stability under repeated use. A handle is included and sized at Handle Size 1, making it ready to use out of the box. Traceability documentation traceable to NIST standards is included, supporting quality-assurance and calibration recordkeeping requirements.
This gage is used in machining, assembly, and inspection environments where 5/16-24 threaded holes must be verified for conformance before components are accepted or released. Typical applications include incoming inspection of threaded fastener holes, in-process thread verification on production parts, and final inspection in quality-control departments. Trades and shops that commonly use this tool include precision machinists, mechanical assemblers, maintenance technicians, and quality inspectors working with fine-thread fastener applications.
Designed to inspect internal 5/16-24 UNF threaded holes held to ANSI/ASME 2B tolerance class. Verify thread form and class requirements against your engineering drawings before use.
Thread gages are inspection instruments, not cutting tools — never force the Go or No Go member into a threaded hole. Clean chips and cutting fluid from the hole before gaging to avoid false readings and gage wear. Store the gage in its case when not in use to protect the thread members from damage. Periodic recalibration against a certified setting plug is recommended to maintain measurement integrity; follow your facility calibration schedule and retain the included NIST-traceable certificate for audit purposes.
