The SPI 34-363-2 is a double-end plug thread gage designed to inspect internal threads for conformance to the 8-32 Unified National Coarse thread standard at 2B class tolerance. One end carries the Go member; the opposite end carries the No Go member. When the Go end passes fully through the threaded hole and the No Go end does not, the thread is within specification. A handle is included and ready to use out of the box. This gage ships with NIST traceability certification, making it suitable for quality-control environments where documented calibration records are required. Machinists, quality technicians, and precision fabricators are the primary users.
This gage is used in production and inspection settings where 8-32 tapped holes must be verified before assembly. Typical applications include machine shops, aerospace sub-assembly, and any trade or manufacturing environment where fastener thread integrity is a controlled characteristic. The 2B classification covers the standard commercial and industrial tolerance class for internal inch-series threads, making this gage appropriate for the vast majority of general-purpose 8-32 threaded components. The included handle eliminates the need for a separate handle purchase for standard-diameter applications.
Designed for inspection of internal 8-32 Unified National Coarse threads manufactured to 2B class tolerance per applicable ANSI/ASME thread standards.
Thread gages are precision measuring instruments and should be handled and stored with care to prevent damage to the thread members. Do not force the Go end through a hole; apply only light hand pressure, as forcing can damage both the gage and the part. Clean threads of chips, oil, and debris before gaging. Calibration intervals should be established per your facility quality plan, and the included NIST traceability certificate should be retained with calibration records.
