The SPI 34-196-6 is a single-end Go plug thread gage machined from steel for inspecting 1-64 unified coarse internal threads to 2B tolerance class. It is used to verify that a threaded hole or nut accepts a mating fastener within the specified dimensional limits. The Go member confirms that the thread form and pitch diameter fall within the minimum material condition. A size 000 handle is required for use but is not included with this gage. Traceability certification to NIST standards is included, supporting quality control documentation requirements in production and inspection environments. This gage is handled by machinists, QC inspectors, and tool room technicians.
This gage applies to inspection of 1-64 threaded features found in fine-pitch fastener applications common in instrument manufacturing, electronics assembly, and precision machined components. The 2B classification covers standard commercial and industrial thread fits. It is suited for incoming inspection, in-process checks, and final inspection workflows where ANSI and NIST-traceable measurement documentation is required.
Designed for inspection of 1-64 unified coarse internal threads classified to 2B tolerance. Requires a size 000 thread gage handle, which is not included.
Plug thread gages are used by QC inspectors and machinists and do not require installation in a system. Mount the gage member into a compatible size 000 handle before use. Handle the gage carefully to avoid dropping or contact with abrasive surfaces, as damage to the thread form will affect measurement accuracy. Store in a protective case when not in use to preserve calibration integrity.
