The SPI 29-080-9 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for precision hole measurement at a nominal diameter of 0.08 inches. This go/no-go style gage is used to verify that drilled, reamed, or bored holes fall within acceptable dimensional tolerances. Manufactured from steel, it holds a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, making it suitable for quality control operations where tight dimensional accuracy is required. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and quality inspection technicians are the primary users of this instrument in production and inspection environments.
This plug gage is used in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and inspection departments where small-diameter hole verification is a routine part of production. It is well suited for checking holes in precision components such as jigs, fixtures, valve bodies, and machined housings. Class ZZ Plus designation indicates it meets tighter-than-standard Class ZZ tolerances, offering improved accuracy for applications where standard Class ZZ gages are marginal.
Designed as an OEM-style precision inspection tool for use wherever 0.08-inch diameter hole verification is required in a Class ZZ Plus application.
Plug gages should be handled with clean, dry hands or lint-free gloves to prevent corrosion from skin contact. Before use, verify the gage has acclimated to the ambient temperature of the inspection area, as thermal expansion can affect measurement accuracy at tight tolerances. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use and follow your facility calibration schedule to maintain traceability to ASME or ANSI standards.
