The SPI 29-026-2 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage used to verify the diameter of precision bored holes and machined openings. It is a go/no-go style fixed-limit gage machined to a nominal diameter of 0.026 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches. The steel construction provides durability under repeated contact with workpiece surfaces. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and quality-control technicians use this gage to confirm that drilled or reamed holes fall within acceptable dimensional limits. It is suited for inspection tasks in production, job-shop, and toolroom environments where tight hole tolerances must be verified quickly and repeatably.
This plug gage is intended for use on small-diameter holes requiring precise dimensional verification. The 0.026-inch nominal size places it in the range of fine-tolerance work common in instrument manufacturing, small-part machining, and precision assembly. It is appropriate for both incoming inspection and in-process quality checks. The gage is packaged as a single unit, making it easy to add to an existing gage set or to replace a worn member.
Designed as a fixed-limit plug gage for verifying small-diameter machined holes in precision manufacturing and inspection applications where Class ZZ Plus tolerances apply.
Plug gages should be handled by metrology technicians or machinists familiar with fixed-limit gage practice. Clean and deburr the hole to be inspected before inserting the gage to avoid damage to the gage member. Never force a plug gage into a hole; doing so can compromise both the gage and the workpiece. Store the gage in a protective case away from other tools to prevent contact damage to the lapped surfaces.
