The SPI 23-211-6 is a double-ring threaded ring gage used to inspect external threads for dimensional conformance to Class 2A tolerance standards. The set includes both a Go ring and a No Go ring, allowing technicians to verify that a threaded workpiece falls within the acceptable tolerance band in a single inspection routine. Constructed from tool steel, the gage is built to withstand the demands of regular shop-floor use. NIST traceability is included, supporting calibration documentation requirements in quality-controlled environments. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool room personnel use this gage as part of incoming inspection, in-process control, and final acceptance routines.
This gage is suited for inspecting external threads with a 1-20 thread designation under Class 2A fit requirements. Class 2A is the most common tolerance class for general-purpose fasteners and threaded components in commercial and industrial manufacturing. The double-ring configuration — Go and No Go in a single unit — streamlines the inspection process and reduces the number of individual tools needed at the inspection station. Typical applications include thread verification on turned parts, fasteners, fittings, and threaded rod in machine shops and production environments.
Designed for inspection of external 1-20 threads manufactured to Class 2A tolerance specifications per ANSI/ASME unified inch thread standards.
Threaded ring gages are used by quality technicians and machinists and do not require mechanical installation. Before use, clean the gage and the workpiece threads to remove chips, coolant, and debris that could affect the reading. Apply a light thread-inspection oil to reduce wear on the gage and ensure accurate engagement. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to prevent nicks and corrosion that would affect calibration.
