The SPI 23-185-2 is a double-ring threaded ring gage used to verify the dimensional accuracy of externally threaded fasteners and components cut to a 9/16-24 thread specification. It includes both a Go ring and a No Go ring in a single tool, allowing a technician to confirm that a threaded part falls within the acceptable tolerance band for Class 2A fits without switching instruments. Constructed from tool steel, the gage is built for repeated use in production and inspection environments. NIST traceability certification is included, supporting quality systems that require documented measurement standards.
This gage is used in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance shops wherever 9/16-24 UNF externally threaded parts must be inspected for conformance. It is appropriate for production-line inspection, incoming quality control, and field verification of machined components. The Class 2A classification covers the standard tolerance range used for most general-purpose threaded fasteners and fittings. Machinists, quality control technicians, and tool-room inspectors are the primary users of this instrument.
Designed for inspection of externally threaded components cut to 9/16-24 UNF Class 2A specifications. Suitable for use wherever ANSI/ASME thread gage standards apply to this thread form and tolerance class.
Threaded ring gages are used by machinists and quality technicians and require no power or mounting. Handle the gage carefully to avoid dropping, which can alter calibration. Store in a protective case away from chips and coolant when not in use. Recalibration against NIST-traceable standards should be performed periodically per your facility quality plan.
