The SPI 19-477-9 is a Class ZZ minus plug pin gage machined from steel, used to verify that a hole or bore meets its minimum acceptable size limit. The gage measures 0.477 inches in diameter and holds a tolerance of 0.000200 inches, providing the precision required for go/no-go inspection in manufacturing and quality control environments. Minus-type gages are ground to the low end of the tolerance band, making them the go member in a standard two-gage set. Machinists, tool and die makers, and quality inspectors use these gages to confirm bore dimensions during production or incoming inspection.
This pin gage is suited for inspection of drilled, reamed, or bored holes in light manufacturing, job shop, and production floor settings. The 0.477-inch diameter targets hole sizes in that range across a variety of workpiece materials. Class ZZ gages are appropriate for commercial-grade inspection where workshop-level accuracy is acceptable rather than the tighter requirements of Class Z or ZZ master gages. This gage is sold individually as a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard addition to Class ZZ pin gage sets used for commercial-grade bore and hole inspection applications.
Pin gages should be handled with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves to prevent corrosion from skin oils. Before use, verify the gage surface is free of burrs, debris, or damage that could affect measurement accuracy. Store in a protective case away from other tooling to prevent contact damage to the ground surface. Calibration and inspection should follow the inspection procedures established by your quality system or applicable ASME B89 standards.
