The SPI 19-472-0 is a Class ZZ minus plug pin gage machined from steel, used to verify the minimum acceptable size of a bored or drilled hole. With a nominal diameter of 0.472 inches and a minus tolerance of 0.0002 inches, this gage gives machinists and quality inspectors a reliable go/no-go reference for hole qualification. It is a single-end pin gage intended for bench inspection and in-process quality control in machine shops, tool rooms, and manufacturing environments. Licensed metrology technicians, machinists, and QC inspectors are the primary users.
This pin gage is suited for dimensional inspection tasks in production and tool-room settings where hole diameter conformance must be verified to close tolerances. The Class ZZ designation makes it appropriate for general-purpose inspection of commercial-grade work. It is well-suited for use in standard gage blocks setups, hand checking of drilled or reamed holes, and incoming inspection of machined components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use pin gage for general-purpose hole diameter inspection applications requiring a 0.472 inch nominal diameter Class ZZ minus plug gage.
Pin gages should be handled with clean cotton gloves or lint-free cloth to prevent oils from affecting dimensional accuracy. Before use, verify the gage and workpiece are at the same ambient temperature to avoid thermal expansion errors. Store pin gages in a protective case away from abrasive surfaces and other tooling to preserve the ground finish and maintain calibration integrity.
