The SPI 19-160-1 is a Class ZZ minus plug pin gage designed to check hole diameters and internal dimensions to a high degree of accuracy. Built from steel, this go/no-go style gage measures a nominal diameter of 0.16 inches and holds a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, placing it in the Class ZZ specification range appropriate for general inspection and quality control work. Class ZZ minus designation means the gage is manufactured to the minus tolerance side, making it suitable for checking minimum acceptable hole sizes. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality inspectors use this type of gage in production and inspection environments.
This plug pin gage is used in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and toolroom settings where consistent hole diameter verification is required. It is well suited for checking drilled, reamed, or punched holes in metal, plastic, and composite workpieces. The compact design and standard handle compatibility make it practical for bench inspection and in-line quality checks across a range of light manufacturing applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use Class ZZ plug pin gage for standard pin gage handle systems used in general machining and inspection applications.
Plug pin gages should be handled with clean, dry hands or inspection gloves to prevent corrosion from skin oils. Before use, verify the gage is clean and free of burrs or debris that could affect measurement accuracy. Store the gage in a protective case when not in use to preserve the ground and lapped surface finish. Calibration intervals should follow your facility quality management plan or applicable metrology standards.
