The SPI 19-112-2 is a Class ZZ minus plug pin gage designed to check the minimum acceptable size of drilled, reamed, or bored holes with a nominal diameter of 0.112 inches. It holds a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, providing reliable go/no-go verification in production inspection and quality control environments. Constructed from steel, the gage maintains dimensional stability under typical shop floor conditions. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality inspectors use this type of gage to confirm that a hole falls within its lower tolerance limit before a part advances to the next operation.
This gage is suited for use in precision machining shops, manufacturing facilities, and toolrooms where tight hole tolerances must be verified consistently. It fits standard gage handle holders used with wire-size and decimal-size pin gage sets. The minus designation means the gage is manufactured to the minus side of the nominal diameter, making it appropriate for checking the low end of a bilateral or unilateral hole tolerance. Typical applications include inspection of drilled pilot holes, reamed bores, and precision-fit dowel pin holes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for pin gage handle holders that accept wire-size and decimal-inch plug gages in the 0.112 inch diameter range.
Pin plug gages should be handled with clean, dry hands or lint-free gloves to prevent corrosion from skin oils. Before use, verify the gage and workpiece are at the same ambient temperature to avoid thermal expansion errors. Do not force the gage into a hole; apply light axial pressure only. Store the gage in a protective case when not in use to prevent nicking or wear that would compromise accuracy.
