The SPI 19-058-7 is a Class ZZ minus plug pin gage used to verify hole and bore diameters to tight dimensional tolerances. Manufactured from steel, this pin gage measures a nominal diameter of 0.058 inches and holds a minus tolerance of 0.0002 inches, meaning the pin is ground slightly under nominal size. Class ZZ is the standard working grade for shop-floor inspection and go/no-go gauging applications. Machinists, toolmakers, and quality control technicians use pin gages to confirm that drilled, reamed, or punched holes meet print specifications before parts move forward in production.
This gage is suited for use in precision machining shops, fabrication facilities, and quality inspection departments. It is commonly used when checking small-diameter holes in metal, plastic, and composite workpieces. The minus designation makes it appropriate for go-gage applications where the pin must enter an acceptable hole. It is sold individually and is compatible with standard pin gage handle sets for convenient one-hand use during inspection routines.
Designed as a working-grade Class ZZ minus plug pin gage compatible with standard pin gage handle sets used in general shop-floor and inspection applications.
Pin gages are installed by hand into pin gage handles or collet-style holders — no tools are required for mounting. Keep gage surfaces clean and lightly oiled when stored to prevent corrosion on the steel surface. Do not force a pin gage into an undersized hole, as this can damage the gage or alter its ground diameter. Handle with clean, dry hands or cotton inspection gloves to avoid transferring oils and contaminants that can affect measurement accuracy.
