The SPI 14-653-0 is a dial drop indicator designed for precision dimensional measurement in machining, tooling, and metrology applications. It delivers a 0.25-inch total range with a 0.001-inch graduation and a 0-50-0 dial reading, making it suitable for comparative measurements, runout checks, and surface flatness verification. The housing is rigid forged brass, and the indicator includes a built-in revolution counter to track full-travel cycles. A Certificate of Calibration Traceable to NPL is included, confirming measurement accuracy at the time of shipment. This indicator is suited for use on inspection fixtures, surface plates, magnetic bases, and transfer setups in both production and toolroom environments. The 0.001-inch graduation supports general-tolerance dimensional checks across a wide range of workpiece types. Designed for use with standard AGD Group 2 dial indicator holders, magnetic bases, and fixtures accepting a 0.375-inch stem diameter and a No. 4-48 thread contact point.
Mounting and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or metrology technician familiar with AGD indicator fixtures. Ensure the indicator stem is clamped securely without side-loading, which can affect measurement accuracy. Zero the dial at the reference surface before taking comparative readings. Contact points should be inspected and confirmed thread-compatible before attachment.
