The SPI 14-462-6 is a rigid steel rule designed for precise linear measurement in trade and shop environments. Measuring 6 inches in overall length and 3/4 inch in overall width, it features 4R graduation — four scales on a single rule — including 1/16, 1/32, 1/64, and 1/8 inch increments. At 0.0400 inch thickness, the blade is stiff enough for consistent contact measurement without flex. Finished in silver, it is a standard layout and inspection tool used by machinists, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and plumbers during fabrication, layout, and field measurement tasks.
This rule is suited for bench work, layout marking, and reference measurement in both residential and light commercial trade applications. Its compact 6-inch length makes it practical for confined spaces and tool pouches. The horizontal scale orientation allows straightforward reading when the rule is laid flat against a workpiece. It ships as a single unit with no hook attachment and is non-magnetic.
Designed as a general-purpose rigid steel rule suitable for layout, inspection, and measurement tasks across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical trade work.
No installation is required for this hand tool. Store the rule flat or in a protective sleeve to preserve scale legibility and prevent edge damage. Avoid exposing the rule to cutting fluids or corrosive chemicals for extended periods, as surface etching can reduce graduation readability over time. Inspect graduation markings periodically to ensure accurate readings.
