The SPI 13-865-1 is a flexible steel rule designed for precision layout and measurement tasks in trade and industrial environments. Measuring 12 inches in overall length and 1/2 inch in overall width, this rule carries a 3R graduation style with three scales: 1/32, 1/50, and 1/64 inch. The satin chrome-plated finish reduces glare under work lighting and resists corrosion. At 0.0200 inch thick, the blade flexes to conform to curved or irregular surfaces where a rigid rule would produce inaccurate readings. HVAC technicians, pipefitters, machinists, and sheet metal workers reach for rules like this when layout accuracy is critical.
This rule is suited for applications requiring fine-increment measurement on flat or curved workpieces. The 1/50-inch scale makes it compatible with metric-adjacent decimal layout work, while the 1/32 and 1/64-inch scales cover standard fractional measurement. The horizontal scale orientation allows straightforward reading along the length of the workpiece. It carries no hook and is non-magnetic, keeping it versatile across metal and non-metal surfaces.
Designed as a standard flexible steel rule for general-purpose layout and measurement in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and sheet metal fabrication applications.
This rule requires no installation. Store flat or hanging to prevent permanent set in the blade. Avoid prolonged contact with cutting fluids or solvents that may degrade the chrome plating over time. Clean with a dry or lightly dampened cloth after use.
