The SPECIALTY MFR 5721490 is a 3/8-inch inline check valve designed to allow one-directional fluid flow while preventing backflow in low-pressure piping systems. The body is constructed from polyvinylchloride (PVC), making it resistant to corrosion and compatible with a wide range of water-based and mildly aggressive media. The valve features barb x barb end connections and carries a 125 WOG (Water, Oil, Gas) pressure rating. A nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) seal provides reliable closure and leak resistance under normal service conditions. This valve is installed by plumbers, irrigation technicians, pool and spa service professionals, and HVAC technicians working on condensate or fluid-handling lines.
This inline check valve is suited for residential and light commercial fluid-handling applications where backflow prevention is required in a compact, lightweight fitting. Typical installations include pool and spa plumbing, irrigation systems, HVAC condensate drain lines, and general water service lines using barbed tubing connections. The gray PVC body blends with standard plumbing assemblies and holds up well in both indoor and outdoor environments when shielded from prolonged UV exposure.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation inline check valve for 3/8-inch barbed tubing connections in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC condensate, pool, spa, and irrigation systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified trade professional in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the supply line fully before removing any existing valve or fitting. Barb connections should be secured with appropriate clamps to prevent tubing pullout under pressure. Verify flow-direction markings on the valve body before final assembly to ensure proper check valve orientation.
