The SPEARS 9829-020 is a CPVC slip coupling manufactured to Schedule 80 pressure ratings, designed for joining 1-1/2-inch CPVC piping systems using solvent-cement connections. Schedule 80 CPVC fittings carry thicker walls than Schedule 40, making them suited for higher-pressure service and applications where additional mechanical strength is required. This coupling is installed by licensed plumbers and pipe fitters working on hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling lines, and industrial process piping where CPVC material provides corrosion resistance and thermal tolerance beyond standard PVC.
The 9829-020 is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial plumbing systems requiring a straight inline connection on 1-1/2-inch CPVC pipe. Typical applications include domestic hot water distribution, chemical process lines, and irrigation supply headers where the piping operates at elevated temperatures or pressures that demand Schedule 80 wall thickness. The slip-socket ends accept solvent cement for a permanent, pressure-rated joint.
Designed for use with 1-1/2-inch Schedule 80 CPVC pipe using solvent-cement joining method per standard CPVC fitting dimensions.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into any existing line. Clean and dry pipe ends before applying CPVC-rated solvent cement; do not use PVC cement on CPVC fittings. Allow full cure time per cement manufacturer instructions before pressurizing the system, and verify compliance with applicable local plumbing codes.
