The SOUTHWIRE MECR-751-B is a 3/4 inch raintight compression-type EMT connector with an insulated throat, designed to bond thin-wall EMT conduit to electrical boxes and enclosures in demanding environments. The connector uses a compression-style assembly that forms a raintight and concrete-tight seal, protecting wiring systems from moisture intrusion and physical damage. Constructed from rugged steel with a zinc-plated finish, it includes a steel locknut and gasket. The insulated throat adds a layer of abrasion protection for conductors at the point of entry. This connector is installed by licensed electricians on commercial and residential electrical systems.
This connector is suited for use in wet locations, outdoor installations, and concrete-encased applications where a raintight EMT termination is required. It is appropriate for use in both new construction and retrofit wiring projects where EMT conduit terminates at junction boxes, panel enclosures, or other electrical equipment. The insulated throat model is especially applicable in installations where conductor protection at the conduit entry point is a priority or required by the authority having jurisdiction.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit connector for 3/4 inch EMT thin-wall conduit terminations at standard electrical boxes and enclosures. Also referenced under Madison MECR-751-B and Topaz 652SIRT.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before working at any enclosure or panel. Ensure the EMT conduit end is cut clean and deburred before seating it into the compression connector to avoid damage to the insulated throat or conductors. Verify the locknut is secured firmly to the enclosure knockout to maintain the raintight integrity of the connection.
