The SOUTHWIRE 14THHNSTRRED is a 14 AWG stranded THHN/THWN building wire rated for 600 volts and 15 amps. It features an annealed copper conductor with 19 strands, a PVC insulation layer, and a nylon jacket in red. The outside diameter is 109 mils. The dual THHN/THWN rating makes it suitable for both dry and wet location installations. Electricians use this wire in conduit runs for branch circuits, panel feeders, and general-purpose wiring in residential and commercial construction. The 500 ft spool length supports larger jobs without mid-run splices.
This wire is used in conduit installations for branch circuit wiring, motor connections, and control wiring in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. The red jacket color aids in circuit identification during installation and future service work. The THHN rating covers dry locations up to 90 degrees C, while the THWN rating extends service to wet locations at the same temperature. Electricians pulling wire through conduit benefit from the nylon jacket, which reduces friction and speeds installation.
Designed for use in conduit systems as an OEM-style general-purpose building wire for residential and commercial branch circuit wiring applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any connections. Wire must be pulled through listed conduit; direct burial and open wiring applications are not appropriate for this product type. Verify conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 before pulling multiple conductors.
