The SOUTHWIRE 13059123 is a 100-foot roll of 10 AWG, 3-conductor Type UF-B underground feeder cable rated for direct earth burial and suitable for indoor wet or corrosive locations. Rated at 600 volts and 75 degrees C, this cable is built for branch circuit wiring where the run must transition from interior spaces to underground installations. The insulation and jacket compound resist acids, alkalis, corrosive fumes, chemicals, lubricants, and groundwater, making it appropriate for landscape lighting circuits, outbuildings, and similar below-grade branch circuit applications. Licensed electricians and experienced electrical contractors are the primary installers of this product type.
Type UF-B cable is used in residential and light commercial branch circuit applications where a direct-burial-rated wiring method is required. Common installations include runs to detached garages, sheds, outdoor lighting, and pump circuits. The cable transitions cleanly from panel or junction box to underground conduit or direct burial trench. It is also listed for use in wet and corrosive indoor locations, such as crawl spaces and utility rooms, where standard NM-B cable is not permitted by code.
Designed as an OEM-style direct-burial branch circuit cable for residential and light commercial electrical systems requiring Type UF-B wiring methods per NEC Article 340.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit at the panel before making any connections. When used as direct-burial cable, minimum burial depth requirements per NEC Article 300 apply depending on circuit voltage and protective method. Avoid sharp bends or pinching the cable jacket during pulling, as damage to the outer jacket can compromise the moisture and corrosion resistance of the assembly.
