The SOUTHWARK METAL ATDRP_14IN is a 14-inch diameter round saddle duct takeoff with an integrated damper, fabricated from hot dip galvanized steel. It is designed for branch duct connections in forced-air HVAC distribution systems and meets ACCA and SMACNA fabrication standards. The Air-Tite design minimizes air leakage at the takeoff connection point, supporting efficient airflow distribution throughout the duct system. This fitting is installed by licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors during new construction or system retrofit work.
This takeoff is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air systems where a round branch duct must be tapped off a main rectangular or flat-oval trunk. The saddle-style mounting seats directly onto the trunk duct surface, and the built-in damper allows the installer to balance airflow to the branch run. It is appropriate for supply-side ductwork installations where zone control or airflow balancing is required at the takeoff point.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal fitting for use in forced-air HVAC duct systems requiring a 14-inch round saddle takeoff with damper at a trunk duct branch point.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or sheet metal contractor in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and local mechanical codes. The air handling system must be powered down and the air handler shut off before cutting into the trunk duct or securing the saddle fitting. Use sheet metal screws and duct sealant or mastic at all joints to maintain system airtightness. Do not overtighten fasteners at the saddle flange, as deformation of the galvanized collar can affect the damper operation.
