The SOUTHWARK METAL AT62_7IN is a stick-on, top-mount sheet metal duct takeoff fitting designed to transition from a rectangular duct trunk to a 7-inch diameter round branch. Constructed from hot-dip galvanized steel, this Air-Tite fitting provides a durable, corrosion-resistant connection point in low-pressure residential and light commercial forced-air distribution systems. The stick-on design allows direct attachment to the flat surface of a rectangular duct without cutting a flanged collar, streamlining branch takeoff installation. HVAC sheet metal mechanics and duct installers use this fitting where a clean round-to-rectangular transition is required.
This takeoff is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC ductwork where a round branch duct must be tapped off a rectangular main trunk. It is appropriate for supply air applications in forced-air heating and cooling systems. The top-mount orientation positions the branch outlet on the upper surface of the trunk duct, a common configuration in basement, crawlspace, and attic duct layouts. Installation follows SMACNA and ACCA duct fabrication and design standards.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal duct fitting compatible with 7-inch round branch ductwork in standard residential and light commercial forced-air distribution systems built to SMACNA and ACCA guidelines.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC mechanics or qualified sheet metal duct installers. Shut down the air handler and close the system before cutting into or attaching fittings to any pressurized duct. Secure the fitting to the trunk duct surface with appropriate sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL 181-listed mastic or approved foil tape per local mechanical code requirements. Follow SMACNA duct construction standards and applicable local mechanical codes for fitting attachment, sealing, and support.
