Soss BH085 Barrel Hinge 7/16 Inch Bright Brass

Product Description

The SOSS BH085 is a 7/16-inch barrel hinge finished in bright brass, designed for door and cabinet applications where a clean, unobtrusive pivot point is required. Barrel hinges of this type are set into a drilled hole, keeping the hinge mechanism concealed when the door is closed. The bright brass finish provides corrosion resistance suited to interior installations. At 0.3 pounds, the BH085 is a lightweight component typically installed by finish carpenters, cabinetmakers, or millwork contractors as part of door or panel hardware sets.

The BH085 is suited for residential and light commercial interior door and cabinet installations where a surface-mounted hinge would be visually undesirable. Typical applications include inset cabinet doors, furniture panels, and interior passage doors requiring a concealed pivot point. The barrel design allows the hinge to sit flush within a drilled bore, maintaining a clean face on both the door edge and the frame or cabinet stile.

Installation Notes

Barrel hinges are typically installed by finish carpenters or cabinetmakers using a drill press or handheld drill with an appropriate bit sized to the 7/16-inch barrel diameter. Ensure the door or panel is fully supported and unpinned from any existing hardware before drilling. Bore depth and alignment are critical to proper swing and flush closure. Follow applicable local building codes for door hardware installation in commercial settings.
