The SMC PNEUMATICS KQ2R06-04A is a push-to-connect plug-in reducer tube fitting designed for pneumatic plumbing lines where tube outside diameter steps down from 6mm to 4mm. Constructed from brass with polybutylene contact components, this fitting handles a maximum working pressure of 145 psi and operates across a temperature range of 23 degrees F to 140 degrees F. The push-to-connect design allows for fast, tool-free tube insertion and positive retention, making it well suited for production environments, maintenance applications, and instrumentation lines where quick disconnects and reliable seals are required.
This fitting is used in compressed air distribution systems, pneumatic control circuits, and light fluid handling lines. Its reducer configuration is common in installations where two different tube sizes must be joined inline without additional adapters. Overall installed length is 33.6mm. The fitting is appropriate for both new plumbing runs and retrofit connections in industrial, commercial, and light manufacturing settings where polybutylene-compatible pneumatic fittings are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style push-to-connect reducer fitting for pneumatic systems using 6mm and 4mm outside diameter polybutylene or compatible tubing.
This fitting is typically installed by pneumatic technicians or pipefitters working on compressed air or instrumentation lines. Before installation or removal, depressurize the line completely and verify the system is at zero pressure. Tube ends should be cut cleanly and squarely to ensure a proper seal at the push-to-connect collet. Confirm tube outside diameter and material compatibility before insertion.
