The SMC PNEUMATICS KQ2R04-10A is a push-to-connect plug-in reducer tube fitting designed to join two pneumatic tubing lines of different outside diameters without tools. The fitting accepts a 4 mm outside-diameter tube on one end and a 10 mm outside-diameter stem on the other, providing a secure, leak-resistant transition in compressed-air and pneumatic fluid-distribution systems. Constructed from brass with a polybutylene component, it is rated to 145 psi maximum working pressure and handles temperatures from 23 degrees F to 140 degrees F. Plumbers, pipefitters, and pneumatic system technicians install this fitting in light industrial and OEM machine-assembly applications.
This reducer fitting is suited for compressed-air lines, pneumatic control circuits, and fluid-conveyance tubing runs where two lines of differing diameters must be connected inline. Its push-to-connect design eliminates the need for thread sealing or crimping tools, making it appropriate for both initial system builds and field-service tube repairs. The compact overall length of 31.70 mm keeps the fitting envelope tight in panel-mount and manifold-adjacent installations common in light industrial and automation environments.
Designed as an OEM-style push-to-connect reducer for pneumatic tubing systems using 4 mm and 10 mm outside-diameter tubing in compressed-air and fluid-distribution lines rated up to 145 psi.
Installation is performed by licensed pipefitters or pneumatic system technicians. Before servicing any pneumatic line, depressurize the system completely and verify zero pressure with a gauge before disconnecting any fittings. Ensure cut tubing ends are square and free of burrs before inserting into the push-to-connect collet to maintain a leak-free seal. Verify that tubing material and system pressure are within the rated limits of this fitting before placing the line back into service.
