The SMC PNEUMATICS KQ2R01-07A is a push-to-connect plug-in reducer tube fitting designed for pneumatic plumbing systems where tube outside diameters need to transition at a connection point. Constructed from brass with a polybutylene tube interface, this fitting handles a maximum working pressure of 145 psi and is rated for operating temperatures from 23 degrees F up to 140 degrees F. The push-to-connect mechanism allows for fast, tool-free tube insertion and removal, making it well suited for compressed air lines, instrumentation tubing, and light industrial fluid circuits. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and industrial pipe fitters commonly install these fittings during system assembly or retrofits.
This fitting is intended for use in pneumatic and fluid conveyance systems requiring a reduction between tube sizes at a plug-in junction. With a tube outside diameter of 1/8 inch and a stem outside diameter of 1/4 inch, it bridges two common tubing dimensions found in residential and light commercial pneumatic controls, instrumentation panels, and similar applications. The RoHS-compliant construction makes it appropriate for projects with environmental material restrictions.
Designed as an OEM-style push-to-connect reducer fitting for pneumatic tubing systems using 1/8 inch outside diameter tubing at the tube port and a 1/4 inch stem outside diameter at the plug-in end.
Depressurize and isolate the pneumatic circuit fully before removing or installing any tube fittings. Confirm tube outside diameter and stem size match system requirements before insertion. Push tubing firmly into the fitting until it seats against the internal collet, then perform a pull-check to verify lock engagement. Follow applicable industry codes and the system manufacturer guidelines for maximum allowable working pressure in the installed assembly.
