The SMC PNEUMATICS KQ2L07-99A is a push-to-connect plug tube fitting designed to seal off open pneumatic tubing lines without tools. Constructed from brass and polybutylene, it accepts 1/4-inch outside diameter tubing and holds a maximum working pressure of 145 psi. The push-to-connect mechanism allows a technician to terminate a line quickly during system modifications, maintenance, or staged installations. It is rated for a temperature range of 23 degrees F to 140 degrees F, making it suitable for indoor compressed air and pneumatic control applications in light industrial and commercial settings. Licensed pneumatic or mechanical contractors install this fitting as part of standard tubing system work.
This plug fitting is used to cap unused ports or terminate tubing runs in pneumatic control systems. Typical applications include compressed air distribution lines, pneumatic actuator circuits, and instrumentation tubing where a branch or outlet must be closed off. The 1/4-inch OD sizing is common in light industrial pneumatic networks and HVAC pneumatic control tubing. The brass body provides durability and corrosion resistance, while the polybutylene release collar enables fast, reliable tube insertion and removal without additional fittings or thread sealants.
Designed as an OEM-style push-to-connect plug fitting for pneumatic tubing systems using 1/4-inch outside diameter tubing, compatible with standard compressed air and instrumentation pneumatic circuits operating within the rated pressure and temperature limits.
Installation is performed by licensed mechanical or pneumatic contractors. Before installing or removing any push-to-connect fitting, depressurize the tubing line completely and verify zero pressure before handling. Insert tubing squarely into the fitting until it seats fully against the internal stop. To release, press the collet ring inward while pulling the tubing out; do not force or twist the tube during removal.
