The SMC PNEUMATICS AS2201F-N01-05 is a flow control elbow valve designed to regulate airflow speed in pneumatic systems. It features a tube-to-male-NPT connection and controls outflow direction, allowing technicians to meter air exhaust from actuators and cylinders. The body is constructed from polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), offering resistance to moderate temperatures and chemical exposure in industrial environments. With a 3/16-inch tube OD and a 1/8-inch male NPT thread, this compact elbow fitting suits tight-clearance installations where inline valves will not fit. Licensed pneumatic technicians and industrial maintenance professionals are the primary installers.
This valve is suited for use in compressed air circuits controlling pneumatic actuators, cylinders, and automation equipment in light to medium industrial applications. The elbow configuration redirects tubing runs at 90 degrees, reducing the footprint of the pneumatic assembly. It is rated for outflow (meter-out) speed control, making it appropriate for controlling the exhaust side of double-acting and single-acting cylinders to regulate extension and retraction speed. Operating temperature range is -5 degrees C to 60 degrees C, keeping it within the bounds of most indoor industrial environments.
Designed as an OEM-style flow and speed control fitting for pneumatic systems using 3/16-inch OD tubing and 1/8-inch male NPT ported components.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pneumatic technician or industrial maintenance professional. Depressurize and lock out the compressed air supply before removing or installing any pneumatic fittings. Ensure the NPT threads are sealed with appropriate thread sealant tape and that the push-to-connect tubing is fully seated before re-pressurizing the system. Do not exceed the rated temperature range during operation.
