The SKF 3203 A-2RS1TN9 is a double-row angular contact ball bearing designed to handle combined radial and axial loads in demanding mechanical applications. Built to an ABEC-3 tolerance class, it features a 30-degree contact angle, a 17 mm bore diameter, and a 40 mm outside diameter with an overall width of 17.5 mm. Two integrated rubber seals protect the internal components from contamination and retain lubrication, reducing the need for external sealing arrangements. A glass fiber reinforced polyamide cage supports the ball complement and keeps rotational performance stable up to 10,000 RPM. Mechanical contractors, millwrights, and OEM assembly technicians are the primary installers of this bearing type.
This bearing is suited for residential and light commercial mechanical assemblies where bidirectional axial load capacity is required alongside radial support. Typical applications include electric motor shafts, pump assemblies, gearboxes, compressors, and conveyor drive systems. The double-row configuration handles moment loads that a single-row design cannot, making it appropriate for cantilevered shaft arrangements or applications with significant overhung load. The double-seal design makes it particularly useful in environments where airborne particulates or moisture are present.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for double-row angular contact ball bearings with a 17 mm bore and 40 mm outside diameter in the 3203 A series.
Installation and removal should be performed by a qualified millwright or mechanical technician using a bearing press or mechanical puller - never drive the bearing into its housing by striking the outer or inner race directly. De-energize and lock out all power sources before beginning any bearing service. Ensure the housing bore and shaft journal are clean and within tolerance before pressing the new bearing into place. Follow the equipment manufacturer service documentation for shaft fit and housing fit specifications.
