The SJE-RHOMBUS 1002727 is a mechanically-activated, wide-angle piggyback pump switch designed for direct control of sump, sewage, and effluent pumps in residential and light commercial applications. Part of the PumpMaster series, this normally open float switch operates on 115 volts AC and handles up to 13 amps, making it compatible with pump motors up to 1 HP. The piggyback plug design allows the switch to pass power to the pump without hardwiring, simplifying installation and service. A 20-foot cord provides adequate reach in most wet well and basin configurations.
This switch is engineered for pump-down and empty-out applications in non-potable water and sewage systems. Its wide-angle activation and mechanical design make it resistant to rotation and turbulence, allowing reliable operation in both calm and agitated liquid environments. Clamp mounting to the discharge pipe or basin wall keeps the float positioned consistently across a range of basin geometries. The 1002727 is a fit for residential sewage ejector pits, sump basins, and similar below-grade collection points where a normally open switch configuration is required to activate the pump as liquid rises.
Designed for use with sump, sewage, and effluent pumps rated up to 1 HP at 115 volts AC in non-potable water and sewage applications. Suitable as a replacement or add-on float switch in residential and light commercial pump basins requiring a normally open, piggyback-style control switch.
This switch is typically installed by licensed plumbers or pump service technicians. Disconnect power to the pump circuit before handling any wiring or repositioning the float assembly. Clamp the switch securely to the discharge pipe or basin wall at the desired activation height, verifying the float swings freely without contacting basin walls or the pump body. Installations must comply with applicable local plumbing codes and NEC requirements for wet-location wiring.
