The SIOUX CHIEF 645WP32 is a reducing poly coupling designed for F1960 PEX-A tubing systems. It connects a 3/4 inch F1960 PEX-A line to a 1/2 inch F1960 PEX-A line, making it a practical fitting for branch-off runs and flow-reduction transitions in residential and light commercial plumbing. The F1960 expansion connection method requires an expansion tool to flare the PEX-A tubing before seating the fitting, producing a secure, memory-recover joint without crimp rings or clamps. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of PEX-A distribution systems in potable water and hydronic applications.
This coupling is suited for new construction and retrofit plumbing projects where a 3/4 inch main supply line must transition down to a 1/2 inch branch or fixture supply. F1960 PEX-A fittings are commonly used in whole-house water distribution manifolds, radiant heating supply and return circuits, and under-slab or in-wall rough-in work where the expansion joint method is preferred for its freeze-damage recovery characteristics.
Designed for use with F1960-compliant PEX-A tubing in residential and light commercial cold and hot water distribution systems where a 3/4 inch to 1/2 inch reducing coupling is required.
Installation requires a properly sized F1960 expansion tool and matching expansion rings; shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. Allow the expanded tubing joint to recover fully before pressurizing the system. Work must comply with applicable plumbing codes, including IPC and local amendments governing PEX-A installations. A licensed plumber should perform or supervise the installation where required by local jurisdiction.
