The SIOUX CHIEF 645PX43 is a polymer barb reducing coupling designed to connect 1-inch PEX tubing to 3/4-inch PEX tubing using a barb-style mechanical connection. Made from polymer construction, this fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing distribution systems where a transition between PEX line sizes is required. It arrives in a 25-piece bag, making it a practical choice for rough-in work, manifold branch runs, and multi-zone hydronic or domestic water projects where multiple fittings are needed at once.
This coupling is used in PEX-based plumbing systems where a reducer is needed between a 1-inch main distribution line and a 3/4-inch branch or supply run. Typical applications include residential new construction, remodel plumbing, and in-floor radiant heating distribution. The barb-style connection works with standard PEX clamp rings or crimp rings as required by the installation method. It is sold in a bag of 25 units to support larger rough-in projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1-inch by 3/4-inch PEX plumbing systems using barb-style connections secured with crimp or clamp rings.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting and fitting. Use a calibrated PEX crimp tool or PEX clamp tool appropriate for the ring type and tubing size being used. Do not over-crimp or under-crimp, as improper ring seating is a leading cause of joint failure.
