The SIOUX CHIEF 645PX32 is a reducing PEX barb coupling designed to transition from 3/4-inch PEX tubing to 1/2-inch PEX tubing in potable water and hydronic piping systems. Constructed from polymer, this fitting delivers corrosion resistance and reliable performance in residential and light commercial plumbing applications. Each bag contains 25 couplings, making it practical for contractors running multiple drops or supply lines in a single job. The barb design creates a secure, watertight connection when used with the appropriate clamp or crimp ring per the tubing manufacturer's recommendation.
This coupling is suited for new construction and retrofit plumbing work where PEX tubing size changes are needed within a distribution system. Typical applications include reducing a 3/4-inch trunk line to a 1/2-inch branch line feeding fixtures such as sinks, toilets, or shower valves. The 25-piece bag format is well suited to rough-in work on residential homes, multi-unit buildings, and light commercial plumbing projects where multiple reductions are required.
Designed as an OEM-style barb fitting for use with standard 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch PEX-A, PEX-B, and PEX-C flexible tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing distribution systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines for PEX piping systems. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting and fitting. Use a calibrated PEX clamp or crimp tool sized for the corresponding tubing diameter to secure each barb connection. Do not over-compress the ring, and inspect each connection for proper seating before pressurizing the system.
