The SIOUX CHIEF 556-4 is a 1-inch pickup talon pipe support bracket designed to secure copper, CPVC, and similar pipe to wood framing members. The integral nail drives directly into joists, studs, or blocking, eliminating the need for a separate fastener during installation. This bracket holds the pipe at the correct standoff and prevents movement, vibration, and contact wear over the service life of the system. It is a standard rough-in component used by plumbers and pipe fitters on residential and light commercial projects.
The 556-4 is suited for horizontal and vertical pipe runs where a single-point, nail-in support is preferred over strap or clamp-style hangers. It is commonly installed during rough-in on water supply lines, drain-waste-vent support applications where applicable, and other 1-inch pipe runs through wood-frame construction. The nail-in design speeds installation on production framing work where multiple supports must be set quickly across a floor or wall system.
Designed as an OEM-style nail-in pipe support for 1-inch nominal pipe in residential and light commercial wood-frame construction.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or journeyman pipe fitter during rough-in framing. Shut off all water supply to the affected lines before positioning supports on live systems. Drive the integral nail fully into the framing member with a hammer to seat the bracket flush and ensure pipe does not shift under load. Follow IPC and local code requirements for support spacing intervals on horizontal and vertical pipe runs.
