Installers drive SDS2.5 structural screws directly into the post or stud, eliminating the need for through-bolts on the wood-side connection. This connector is field-installed by framing contractors, structural carpenters, and general contractors working to engineer-specified shear wall assemblies.
The HDU2-SDS2.5 is suited for residential and light commercial wood-frame projects where engineered shear walls are required. Typical applications include multi-story platform-frame construction, shear wall hold down at corners and wall ends, and anywhere an engineer of record specifies a code-listed tension tie.
