The SILENT KNIGHT sk-control is an addressable supervised control module designed for fire alarm notification systems. It provides supervised monitoring of wiring connected to load devices that require an external power supply to operate, including bells, horns, and strobes. The module communicates over an addressable loop and reports wiring faults back to the fire alarm control panel, giving technicians real-time status of each notification circuit. Licensed fire alarm installers and low-voltage electricians are the primary trades that specify and install this device in commercial and light industrial fire protection systems.
The sk-control is used in addressable fire alarm installations where notification appliances such as bells, horns, and strobes are powered by an external supply rather than directly from the panel. It fits into commercial applications where supervised circuit integrity is required by code. Compatible system versions are version 10 and higher of the 5700, 5808, 5820XL, and 5820XL-EVS IntelliKnight addressable fire alarm control panels from SILENT KNIGHT.
Compatible with version 10 and higher of the SILENT KNIGHT 5700, 5808, 5820XL, and 5820XL-EVS IntelliKnight addressable fire alarm control panels.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or low-voltage electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the addressable loop and disconnect external notification appliance circuit power before wiring the module. Verify panel firmware is version 10 or higher before placing the device on the loop. Follow the manufacturer wiring diagram for proper polarity on the notification appliance circuit output.
