The SIGMA 819907965 is a standard hex head pipe bushing conforming to FIG 3383 dimensions, designed to reduce a 2.5-inch male NPT thread down to a 2-inch female NPT thread. Constructed from malleable iron with a galvanized finish, this bushing delivers corrosion resistance and reliable mechanical strength in threaded pipe systems. Rated at 150 lb, it is suited for low-pressure piping applications in plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems. The hex head profile allows for wrench engagement during installation, making it straightforward to achieve a proper seal without overstressing the fitting.
This bushing is used in residential and commercial piping systems where a step-down reduction is needed between a larger-diameter pipe or valve and a smaller-diameter branch line or fitting. Typical applications include water distribution, hydronic heating systems, gas piping, and general mechanical piping where galvanized malleable iron fittings are specified. It is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working to ASME or applicable local piping codes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 150 lb malleable iron threaded piping systems using standard NPT connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not use a pipe wrench on the female end of the bushing, as this can crack the fitting.
