The SIGMA 811048818 is a malleable iron galvanized reducing tee conforming to FIG 3105R specifications. It provides a three-way pipe junction with a reduced branch outlet, allowing a main run of 2 inches to transition to a 1-1/2 inch branch in a single fitting. The female national pipe taper (FNPT) thread connections on all three ports ensure a reliable, pressure-rated seal when made up with thread sealant. Rated at 150 lb, this fitting is suited for low-pressure piping systems in mechanical, plumbing, and general industrial applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting class.
This reducing tee is intended for use in threaded pipe assemblies where a branch takeoff at a reduced diameter is required. Typical applications include steam, water, air, and gas distribution piping in residential and commercial mechanical systems. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for installations in moderately corrosive or wet environments. The 2 x 2 x 1-1/2 inch nominal sizing fits standard Schedule 40 pipe of the corresponding nominal diameters.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded fitting for use with standard 2 inch and 1-1/2 inch nominal Schedule 40 threaded pipe in 150 lb malleable iron piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC requirements for the intended service. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before making or breaking any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Do not over-torque the fitting, as malleable iron threads can be damaged by excessive force.
