The SIGMA 811040005 is a galvanized malleable iron reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in low-pressure gas, water, and air distribution systems. Conforming to a 150 lb pressure class, this fitting accepts female national pipe taper (FNPT) connections at all three ports. The run measures 1 inch nominal on both ends, with a 1/2 inch nominal branch outlet. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for indoor and outdoor installations. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting when routing branch lines off a main run without stepping down the main line size.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications including water supply, compressed air, and low-pressure steam or gas lines. The 150 lb pressure class fits standard Schedule 40 threaded pipe. The FNPT thread pattern on all three ports allows direct connection to male-threaded pipe, nipples, and other fittings without adapters. It is a common choice in retrofit and new construction work where a branch takeoff at a reduced size is required inline.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fitting for 150 lb malleable iron threaded pipe systems using 1 inch and 1/2 inch nominal Schedule 40 pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive torque.
