The SIGMA 811010008 is a FIG 3101R 90-degree reducing pipe elbow designed for threaded pipe systems in plumbing, mechanical, and light industrial applications. It transitions from a 1-1/2 inch nominal female inlet to a 3/4 inch nominal female outlet, allowing directional changes and pipe size reductions in a single fitting. Built from malleable iron with a galvanized finish, this elbow is rated at 150 lb pressure class. The female NPT (FNPT) threads on both ends accept standard tapered pipe threads for a secure, leak-resistant connection. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in low-pressure water, air, and gas distribution systems.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial piping installations where a 90-degree change of direction and a simultaneous reduction in pipe diameter are required. Common applications include branch connections in water supply lines, compressed air distribution, and gas piping systems where reducing the line size at a turn is more efficient than using separate fittings. The galvanized coating provides corrosion resistance for use in exposed or moderately humid environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1-1/2 inch and 3/4 inch NPT threaded pipe systems rated at 150 lb class.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC requirements for gas applications. Shut off and depressurize the supply line completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten malleable iron fittings, as excessive torque can crack the casting.
