The SIGMA 810017210 is a FIG 3103 standard street elbow designed to change flow direction in threaded pipe systems. It features a male NPT inlet on one end and a female NPT outlet on the other, allowing direct connection without a coupling. Rated at 150 lb, this fitting is manufactured from malleable iron with a black finish, making it suitable for gas, air, and water piping applications in both residential and commercial settings. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of standard threaded iron pipe assemblies.
This street elbow is used in threaded malleable iron pipe systems where a directional change is needed at a valve, appliance connection, or branch point. The 2-inch nominal size fits standard Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 black iron pipe. Common applications include natural gas distribution piping, compressed air lines, and hydronic heating systems. The MNPT x FNPT configuration eliminates the need for an additional nipple when transitioning direction, saving space in tight installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for 2-inch nominal threaded malleable iron pipe systems rated at 150 lb, compatible with standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive force.
