The SIGMA 33RT1012004C is a malleable iron pipe reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping systems. The run measures 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 inches with a 1/2-inch branch outlet, all terminating in female NPT (FNPT) threads for straightforward connection to standard threaded pipe. Rated at 150 lb, this fitting handles the pressure demands of common black-iron piping applications. The black finish is standard for gas and general-purpose piping. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of fitting.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial piping installations where a branch takeoff at a reduced diameter is needed. Common applications include natural gas distribution lines, compressed air systems, steam piping at low pressure, and general water service piping where malleable iron fittings are specified. The FNPT thread pattern accepts standard tapered pipe threads on all three ports, making it compatible with Schedule 40 black iron pipe and other threaded pipe systems.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded fitting for use with standard Schedule 40 black iron or malleable iron pipe systems using NPT threads in 1-1/4 inch and 1/2 inch nominal sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable local codes, including IFGC and IPC requirements where relevant. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling or joining threaded pipe connections. Apply listed pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to proper engagement without over-torquing malleable iron threads. Do not use this fitting beyond its rated pressure class or in systems carrying fluids incompatible with malleable iron.
