The SIEMON COMPANY Z6-PNL-U48K is a 48-port Category 6 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) patch panel designed for structured cabling installations. Occupying 1U of rack space, it provides a high-density termination point for horizontal cabling runs in data centers, server rooms, and commercial network closets. The panel organizes and manages Cat6 patch connections, supporting Gigabit and 10-Gigabit Ethernet applications at the structured cabling layer. Licensed electricians and low-voltage cabling technicians are the primary installers of this type of component.
This patch panel is suited for enterprise and commercial environments where structured cabling must meet TIA-568 Cat6 performance requirements. The 1U form factor allows installation in standard 19-inch EIA racks and two-post or four-post open-frame enclosures. With 48 ports in a single rack unit, it is well-suited for high-density wiring closets where rack space is at a premium. Each port supports individual horizontal cable termination for voice and data distribution.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for 19-inch EIA-compliant rack enclosures used in Cat6 UTP structured cabling systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage cabling technician or licensed electrician in accordance with applicable local codes and TIA-568 standards. Power down or de-energize any active patch connections before terminating or re-patching cables. Use a 110-style punch-down tool for rear terminations; avoid over-untwisting pair conductors beyond the minimum required for termination. Secure the panel to the rack using appropriate cage nuts and mounting screws before terminating cables.
