The SHURTAPE 280222 is a light-adhesion painter's masking tape engineered for delicate surfaces where surface damage or paint bleed is a concern. This tape incorporates PaintBlock Technology, a super-absorbent polymer that reacts with latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier along the tape edge, sealing it against bleed-through. The result is a crisp, clean paint line without the need for touch-up work. Each roll measures 1.88 inches wide by 60 yards long and arrives in a reusable plastic canister that protects the treated edges from damage between uses. Licensed painters, finish carpenters, and detail-oriented tradespeople working interior jobs are the primary users.
This tape is suited for interior decorative painting applications including wall stripes, geometric patterns, and standard masking tasks. Recommended substrates include finished wood, fresh paint that is dry to the touch, wallpaper, veneer, laminate, vinyl, and primed drywall. It removes cleanly from most surfaces for up to 60 days after application, making it a practical choice for multi-stage paint projects or staged inspections. Always test on a small area before full application to confirm compatibility with the specific substrate and coating being used.
Recommended for interior use on finished wood, fresh paint dry to the touch, wallpaper, veneer, laminate, vinyl, and primed drywall. Not recommended for unprimed drywall or exterior applications. Test before use on all surfaces for complete compatibility with the substrate and coating.
This tape is applied by hand and requires no special tools. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or grease before applying. Remove the tape at a low angle at the end of each work session or before the 60-day limit to minimize the risk of surface damage. Interior use only.
