The SHURTAPE 280220 is a light-adhesion painter's masking tape designed for delicate surfaces where clean paint lines and damage-free removal are the priority. Built around PaintBlock Technology, the tape uses a super-absorbent polymer that reacts with latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier along the tape edges, stopping paint bleed before it starts. The result is a sharp, defined line without the rework. Each roll measures 0.94 inches wide by 60 yards long and ships in a reusable plastic canister that protects the treated edges between uses, helping maintain consistent performance across a job.
This tape is suited for interior decorative painting work including stripes, geometric patterns, and other detail applications where tape is applied to finished or sensitive substrates. Recommended surfaces include finished wood, fresh paint that is dry to the touch, wallpaper, veneer, laminate, vinyl, and primed drywall. The light adhesion formula allows clean removal from most surfaces for up to 60 days after application. It is not rated for exterior use. Test on all substrates before committing to a full application, particularly on surfaces with delicate coatings or finishes.
Recommended for use on finished wood, fresh paint (dry to the touch), wallpaper, veneer, laminate, vinyl, and primed drywall for interior applications. Test before use on all surfaces for complete compatibility with your substrate and coating.
Application and removal should be performed by a painter or finishing contractor familiar with surface prep and masking techniques. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of dust or loose material before applying tape. Remove tape at a low angle and at a steady pace to minimize the risk of surface damage or adhesive transfer. Interior use only — do not apply to exterior surfaces or in conditions outside the manufacturer's recommended temperature range.
