The SHARKBITE ur334 is a 1/2-inch female NPT drop ear elbow fitting designed for fast, tool-free pipe connections in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Built with a compact DZR brass body, this push-fit fitting requires no soldering, crimping, or clamps. It is rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, making it suitable for both potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications. The integrated drop ear design allows the fitting to be anchored directly to a wall or framing member, providing a stable mount point for supply stub-outs. Installation requires no loose components and is approved for underground use and concealed installations behind walls without access panels.
The ur334 is intended for use in residential and light commercial systems where copper, CPVC, or OD-controlled PEX pipe is present. The drop ear configuration is commonly used for shower arms, tub spouts, and wall-mounted fixture supply lines. Licensed plumbers and experienced pipe fitters install this fitting in new construction and retrofit applications. Its lead-free construction meets requirements for potable water contact, and its hydronic heating certification makes it a dual-purpose option for radiant or baseboard heating systems.
Compatible with OD-controlled copper, CPVC, and PEX pipe in 1/2-inch size. Meets UPC, IPC, and cUPC requirements. Listed by IAPMO and certified to ANSI/NSF-61 for potable water systems and to IGC 188 for hydronic heating water distribution.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before fitting any push-fit connection. Ensure pipe ends are cut cleanly and squarely and that burrs are removed before insertion to the full depth. Anchor the drop ear bracket securely to framing before threading the fixture supply line to avoid stress on the fitting body.
